From September 20 to 21, 2018, the 15th Seminar on Application of AFC System in Urban Rail Transit was successfully held in Hefei. BII-TTBJ, a subsidiary of BIITT, was invited to discuss the “development trend of AFC system in rail transit in the era of big data” with experts in the rail transit industry all over the country. Liu Yinghan, Vice President of BII-TTBJ, delivered a keynote speech on “Big Data of Passenger Flow Analysis and Its Application”, and exchanged experiences with participants from all walks of life.

In his speech, Mr. Liu mentioned that the scale of urban rail transit network in China was expanding rapidly. With the refinement of network command and emergency management, the accuracy of passenger flow analysis was increasingly required. The key to improve the accuracy of passenger flow statistical analysis was to analyze the route of single passenger as accurately as possible. At the same time, the continuously accumulated big data of passenger flow formed the basis of passenger flow forecast in various time dimensions and sections. By introducing the big data method, the passenger flow forecasting demand of different scenarios in operation management could be realized. Thus, the analysis results of the big data of passenger flow could be applied to the optimization and upgrading of the front-line operation organization, forming a positive circle of passenger flow data in network.

The new passenger flow sorting model and passenger flow forecasting system independently developed by BII-TTBJ have an accuracy rate of more than 95% in passenger travel path analysis. Flexible and applicable passenger flow forecasting function has also achieved good results in practical application, which provides effective assistance for operators to optimize operation organization services and passenger guidance.
